Comments from the children...

The kids have been saying some funny things in class lately so I thought I'd share:

We've been singing a song about going on a picnic (with my 3-4 year olds).  When I ask them what they'd like to take on the picnic, I always get the standard items like cookies, salad, sandwiches and milk.  But this is a sophisticated bunch of children and this past week my little Eden came up with "hummus" (only she called it "pummus"...lol).  I had to make her pronounce it twice to figure out what she meant.

Another little guy named Teddy said he liked "pesto" at his picnics. When I asked him what he likes to eat with his pesto, he thought about it for a few seconds before saying "raisin toast".  I thought maybe it was a brain cramp and I'd try again but his second item was "macaroni and cheese".  Too funny...

U.S. Botanical Gardens...

I did some sight-seeing today....here are some pictures from the U.S. Botanical Gardens (part of the Smithsonians).  They have a special orchid exhibit right now and it's breath-taking:

Drum roll, please....

Here are the pictures I've been promising!!!  As some of you know, I have big news....I bought a condo this week!!!  I am so excited and I get the keys on February 15th...my birthday of all days.  It's a 2BR/2BTH, 1150 squ. feet, and is right inside the beltway in Falls Church about 1.5 miles from the metro (those of you in DC know 'bout being inside the beltway!).  I have a bus stop at the end of my street so it's a 3 minute ride to the nearest metro which is only 1.5 miles away.I have been so blessed...

The living area... (the dining area is where I was standing)...the bedrooms are through that hallway, the kitchen is to my left, the deck to my right...)

All the paint and carpet are new which is great and the neighborhood is very quiet.  I'm close to several parks and bike trails too!

My own GPS...

So I'm sitting in class this week and the kids are each sharing "one special thing" (with the three-year-olds, sharing  is inevitable and seeing how it's going to come out at some point during class, I let them tell me their special thing FIRST so we can focus on our music without interruption...lol).  Anyway, we come around the circle to Caleb (an adorable blonde haired, blue eyed child) and he tells me he went to see the Baltimore Train Museum.  I asked him if it was very far and he nodded yes....then, without batting an eyelash said, "All you do is go up Connecticut to the beltway to 95".  I'm dying 'cause this child is completely correct!!  I barely know those directions.  I told him that I have a very hard time finding my way around the city and that maybe I needed to have him be my special helper so I don't get lost.  He agreed and said, "Miss Anna, you can come to my house then".  Cracked me up.....
